The University of Twente is an entrepreneurial research university and provides academic education and research in a wide variety of fields ranging from psychology to public administration and from applied physics to biomedical technology.
Several university groups in the departments of Electrical Engineering as well as Science and Technology are strongly involved in research and education in the field of photonics. The photonic research ranges from fundamental nano-optics and laser physics to integrated optical devices and communication systems. Our education offers for example Master tracks in Optics and Biophysics, Telecommunication Networks and Nanotechnology and has recently started a Graduate Programme for Advanced Optics.
